Embassy Suites Hoteles
The owners of Embassy Suites Hotel in Mexico, a group formed by 50% foreign investors and 50% Mexican investors, requested ZIMMA’s intervention to obtain credit for US$12.5 million. The funding was needed to reach the total required investment of US$25 million to transform a building, damaged by the earthquake of 1985, into suitable space for the hotel chain.
ZIMMA documented the hotel’s current and future situation and contacted several Mexican and foreign financial institutions on its behalf. A Spanish bank with Latin American coverage, based in Miami, agreed to fund the transaction, and a successful relationship was established between the credit institution and the hotel chain in Mexico.
