As a result of the financial crisis of 1994, LUNAMEX was forced to restructure its debt, totaling more than USD$100 million at the time and held primarily by Mexico’s banking institutions.

ZIMMA’s managing partner carried out most of the negotiations with the banks, as well as the sale of some of the company assets, a process that had been interrupted by the banks’ preference for legal proceedings.
